About Ali Crowley
I believe that clients have the ability to choose how to resolve their own problems and can make their own decisions with my assistance as a facilitator. I believe that clients are responsible for their own thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. As a counselor, I hope to facilitate for my clients greater self-awareness, through their life experience that lead to increased confidence, self-esteem, independence, mental health, and the capacity to effectively navigate the complex challenge of life. Because I believe that a client’s self-awareness is key to developing self-direction and independence, my counseling practice will be guided my Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I will use Play Therapy with children because I believe that children can express their feelings and resolve conflicts through play.
My approach will provide clients with methods to solve problems utilizing their own strengths. It will be goal-oriented and a hands-on practical approach to problem solving. I use CBT to help people become more aware of their negative interpretations and behavioral patterns, and help them develop alternative ways of thinking and behaving to reduce their psychological distress. I believe counseling is a collaborative process and I will provide a safe and caring environment in which we can address your concerns.
