In my work, the most important aspect of counseling is the therapeutic alliance. I understand the idea of sharing your thoughts, emotions, and issues can make you feel nervous and vulnerable, especially, if this is your first experience with counseling. I desire to help alleviate that anxiety by offering authentic and empathetic responses to what you bring to our sessions. I believe the client is the expert on themselves so I offer a safe space that allows you to freely explore your thoughts, emotions, circumstances, behaviors, and even spirituality, if you desire for that to be incorporated in our sessions.
In our work together, I hope to increase your awareness, acceptance, and responsibility, as we strive toward your goals. Through different cognitive-behavioral techniques, I will help you become more aware of how your thoughts may be impacting the way you feel and behave as well as highlight your personal strengths and resources that can help you in your day-to-day life. I will help you promote acceptance of the adjustments that need to be made to achieve your goals because I want you to feel equipped and empowered to take control of your responsibilities and your environment.
Therapy is a collaborative process. Our sessions will be an interactive process in which I expect you to play an active role in helping establish your goals and working towards them. Like building muscles, you must continually put in the work to see the results.
I value what you will bring to our sessions and I am so honored to be a part of your counseling journey!
