About Ashley Maynard
Hello all and welcome to Oakwood Collaborative! My name is Ashley Maynard, current M.Ed. in Counseling student at the University of Houston. I have obtained my B.A. in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University, and under the current supervision of Jeremy Dew, LPC-S, I am advancing my skills in clinical work. That being said, my overall goal is to help you be your best self.
Using clinically tested and evidenced-based interventions, I aim to work with you to attain realistic goals that promote inner strength. This is your space to grow, which is why I utilize both person centered and Adlerian approaches to therapy when working with adults, adolescents, children, and couples. I have a passion for working with under-served populations; especially ethnic minorities, the LGBTQ+ community, and at-risk youth. This passion has been shown through my previous work with foster care youth, families in emergency housing, and financial counseling in black communities. My experience, combined with my education and personal life experiences, offers a unique perspective that lends to your situation. I am so happy you have begun this journey and I hope we can be a great fit!
