Hi! I am very excited to be a practicum student at Oakwood Roots, under the supervision of Nicole Hale, Ph.D., L.S.S.P.. My approach to counseling is collaborative as I operate using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe that self-awareness is an important part of counseling and can help achieve one’s goals. Counseling can be a scary experience, but I will provide a safe and open space to discuss a client’s presenting concerns. My undergraduate and master’s degree have provided me with a great basis on intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships. Understanding interactions that people have within themselves as well as with others can be beneficial in counseling and reaching goals.
In my practice, the client plays a big role in their ability to change the thoughts, behaviors, and feelings that are concerning. Working to resolve ambivalence and problems is essential for our sessions. As a counselor, I will help my client’s work towards reaching their full potential by examining and working on their concerns. I value every client that I counsel as they go through their counseling journey and work towards personal growth.
