Hello all! Although a native of North Carolina, I have made Central Texas home for the past decade. Since graduating from Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas in 2008, I’ve focused my clinical work with adults, ranging from young adults to those at the end-of-life along with their caregivers.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Supervisor through the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners. I have over ten years experience working with diverse clients in various settings, and have supervised both BSW and MSW field placement students, as well as LMSW licensees toward clinical licensure. My approach to therapy is integrative, utilizing a Person-Centered framework informed by attachment theory and relational-cultural theory. My areas of interest include developmental transitions across the lifespan, identity development, family-of-origin concerns, healthy relationships, diversity and social justice, aging and end-of-life, and grief/loss. A social worker by training, I see people through a strengths-based lens, respecting their inherent dignity and worth. I also acknowledge the influence of environment on functioning, and social justice is a core value of my work as a clinician and supervisor.
