Hi! Originally from rural West Virginia, I have spent the better part of 17 years in Austin, TX. Having very recently moved to College Station, I’m excited and motivated to begin working in this thriving community. My theoretical perspective focuses on person- in- environment, mainly taking into consideration the many facets of human exposure and environmental influences that formulate a person’s life. I have come to see that a person’s power to change comes from their own internal resources of reflection, motivation and realization. My job is only to be a companion to this self-help.
Receiving my BA in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006, and my Masters in Social Work in 2017 from Texas State University, I have worked many years with persons with pervasive mental health diagnosis’s as well as addiction issues. Additional work has focused on adults, couples and families experiencing life transition issues, particularly aging and grief. I am currently working on obtaining my Clinical Social Work Licensure under the supervision of Elizabeth Eaton, LCSW-S.
