Oakwood Counseling is growing, and we’re looking for talented mental health professionals who want more than simply a place to build a caseload. We welcome clinicians who want to work in person in Bryan/College Station, remotely via telehealth, or a combination of both. Remote clinicians must be appropriately licensed in Texas and provide services to clients who are physically located in Texas at the time of care.

A Practice Designed to Support Clinicians
Oakwood Counseling was founded in 2003 by Dr. Adam Sáenz, serving Bryan, College Station, the Brazos Valley, and communities throughout Texas with counseling and comprehensive psychological services. Adam began as a sole practitioner while working full-time for Bryan Independent School District, building the practice alongside his existing career.
Solo practice can be isolating, even for someone as relatively introverted as Adam. By 2007, several clinicians began sharing office space with him, shifting Oakwood from a sole practitioner to a group practice and creating an immediate sense of professional community that has shaped the practice ever since.
Since then, growth in the Brazos Valley’s population, and the corresponding need for outpatient mental health services, has helped forge Oakwood into the robust clinic it is today. That growth has also expanded its reach: telehealth now allows Oakwood clinicians to serve clients across Texas, while the Bryan location remains a welcoming home base for those who prefer in-person care. Along the way, Oakwood has built lasting referral relationships with physician’s offices, churches, school districts, and state agencies.
As Oakwood continues to grow, its guiding goal has stayed constant: capture the advantages of both solo and large-agency practice while minimizing the drawbacks of each. Solo practice offers freedom but often brings isolation and the burden of running a business alone; large agencies offer stability and benefits but often demand heavy caseloads with little autonomy.
At Oakwood, clinicians set their own schedules, build the caseload they want, and collaborate with fellow providers, without managing billing, marketing, or facility logistics themselves. The result is an environment where clients receive exceptional care and clinicians can do their best work, supported by the infrastructure they need and a career shaped around their own strengths, interests, and life.

Oakwood has a longstanding commitment to clinical education and professional development. As our team of LPC Associates grows, we are particularly interested in Texas LPC-S clinicians who enjoy supervision and mentorship.
This can be a wonderful fit for an experienced clinician who wants to maintain a clinical caseload while also expanding their role through supervision, mentorship, and professional development of associate-level clinicians.
And you don’t necessarily need to live in Bryan/College Station to explore opportunities with Oakwood. We welcome conversations with qualified LPC-S clinicians throughout Texas who are interested in remote or hybrid opportunities, when supervision and clinical services can appropriately be provided virtually.
