My Philosophy
The counseling process can feel incredibly intimidating – a space where you’re
encouraged to talk about your feelings, the good and bad, areas you want to grow
within, and more. I want you to know that I understand that, and my job isn’t to
make you feel even more intimidated! I view counseling as a walk on a trail with a
friend. You’ll move forward, you’ll discover new things, sometimes you’ll turn
around and take a few steps back, and sometimes you’ll stumble. In all of this
though, you’re not alone. I’m there to walk alongside with you. I specialize in working with college students (traditional and non-traditional) and adults who are facing concerns around anxiety, depression, self-identity and self-esteem, life transitions, and more. While my main client focus centers around women, I also have experience and enjoy working with men as well. Within the counseling space, I tend to use techniques centered around goal planning, creating action, and
focusing on acceptance and how to move forward in life. I’ve found that having an open space where you’re allowed to discuss what your feelings are, what has and/or hasn’t
worked, and where you want to progress can help tremendously in creating growth.
