My Philosophy
Entering counseling can be a tough commitment. It is my mission to ease apprehensions or resistance by creating a safe and welcoming environment. Though the journey may be long or filled with obstacles, you will not have to travel it alone. Healing and growth are unique processes that I believe require a unique approach. For this reason, I value a person-centered and cognitive-behavioral orientation that highlights each client’s capacity to grow through self-discovery and thought pattern adjustment. Together we collaborate to set therapeutic goals and process your cares and concerns.
In addition to clinical mental health training, I am also trained in mental performance enhancement. Including combatting performance anxiety, leadership skills, stress management, attention control, psychology of injury recovery, etc. Though these enhancement areas are commonly associated with sports participation, each can also be applied to work and daily life settings where demands can also be high.
