My Philosophy
Hello, I’m Mireya, and I am genuinely thrilled to support you on a journey towards liberation, hope, and healing from the challenges you’re facing. In my counseling services, I prioritize a person-centered approach, listening empathetically to your concerns and tailoring my support to meet your specific needs. I firmly believe in the uniqueness of each individual, understanding that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to life’s conflicts. Instead, I see multiple paths to reach a resolution, with a personalized route for you that leads to joy and freedom from burdens.
My educational and clinical background is diverse, starting in Southern California with a B.A. in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. I continued my studies at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, earning an M.A. in Social Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During my training, I completed practicum and internship experiences in community and university settings. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology at Texas A&M University and serve at Texas A&M TCHATT, offering brief counseling services to students in grades K-12.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a diverse clientele, spanning various ages, cultures, races, genders, sexual orientations, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I particularly enjoy working with adults, delving into their thoughts and emotions to understand how they impact behaviors. When you’re ready to take the next step and explore deeper aspects of yourself, I am here, honored to have the opportunity to work with you.
