My Philosophy

Counseling starts with building a genuine connection and creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and able to show up exactly as you are. My approach is collaborative — you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, helping you navigate challenges, discover new perspectives, and work toward meaningful change using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
I grew up in a small rural town in Central West Texas before moving to College Station to attend Texas A&M University, where I was also a member of the Corps of Cadets. My own life experiences have greatly shaped who I am today and continue to influence my counseling style. I value resilience, humor, authenticity, and empathy, and I strive to bring those qualities into every session.
I enjoy getting to know each person’s unique story and understanding how their experiences have shaped them. I believe people are often far more resilient than they realize, and sometimes all we need is support, time, or a different perspective to reconnect with that strength within ourselves.
One quote that has always stayed with me is from Viktor Frankl: “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, struggling with grief or trauma, or simply trying to navigate a difficult season of life, you do not have to go through it alone.
